Shamit Gupta

Shamit has over sixteen years of life insurance consulting experience, serving clients across the globe, especially in India and the Asia Pacific region.

Shamit was involved in setting up and now leads Milliman’s life insurance consulting practice based in New Delhi. This team provides consulting support to our clients across the globe, including the USA, EMEA, and the Asia Pacific region.

Shamit was also one of the founder members of the Milliman’s Indian life insurance consulting practice based in Mumbai. As part of this practice, Shamit provided consulting support to our clients based in India, Sri Lanka and the Asia Pacific region. He continues to serve our clients based in India in a limited capacity.

Prior to Milliman, Shamit worked with Towers Watson for more than four years in its life insurance consulting practice in India, where he provided consulting support to clients based in India, the Asia Pacific region and across the globe. Shamit has also interned at Max Life.

He has worked on a large number of embedded / appraisal valuations, especially in the context of M&As and IPOs, in India, the Middle East and the Asia Pacific region. Shamit played a key role in the IPO of ICICI Prudential Life, the first insurance company to launch its IPO in India.

Shamit also provides consulting support to our clients on a wide range of projects including:

Shamit also serves on Advisory Groups of the actuarial profession in India.
